SCGC 2016 was an international conference on the new Suez Canal, themed “Challenges & Opportunities” and held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Pyramids International Group was the main organiser and the Suez Canal Authority produced the conference. Zain Exhibitions handled sales and marketing.
The new Suez Canal opened on 6 August 2015. The conference brought shipping specialists, investors and officials to Cairo to discuss the canal and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). The brochure targeted investors in ports and logistics, maritime services, energy and industry.
The Suez Canal Authority chairman, Vice Admiral Mohab Mamish, chaired the conference.
Zain handled sales and marketing for the conference, and the brochure names it in that role alongside the main organiser and the conference producer. Zain sold four sponsorship tiers: Diamond (two sponsors only), Platinum, Gold and Silver. Sponsors could place their logos on the event website, posters and banners, newsletters, billboards, the conference booklet, marketing brochures and local newspaper ads.
Eng. Abdel Hafeez El-Adl, Chairman of the Sidi Ali Group, was the conference's General Coordinator. Photos from the event show a full conference hall, the stage with the event branding and flags, and delegates on board a vessel in port.
