GEO brings together the Middle East's petroleum geoscientists. For its 12th edition in March 2016, Zain Exhibitions registered 46 Egyptian delegates from six petroleum companies and its own team. All six companies also appear on the show's exhibitor list.
GEO, the Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition, brings together the region's petroleum geoscientists: geologists, geophysicists, geochemists and reservoir engineers. AEM organises the exhibition and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) runs the conference, at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre in Manama. The 12th edition ran 7–10 March 2016.
GEO 2016 followed Zain's Egyptian pavilions at MEOS 2015 in Bahrain and KOGS 2015 in Kuwait. This time Zain registered a delegation of 46 Egyptian delegates:
All six companies appear on the GEO 2016 exhibitor list. The Egyptian pavilion carried “EGYPT” and “Egyptian Petroleum Sector” branding, and officials met the delegation under the “EGYPT – Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources” fascia. Photos also show officials in conversation on the show floor and a busy aisle beside the pavilion.
GEO stayed on Zain's calendar after 2016. For GEO 2018 (5–8 March 2018), Zain's 2018 agenda names its role as “Sales & Marketing – UBM UK”, and Zain's KOGS 2017 report recommended that the Egyptian petroleum sector join GEO 2018 at the same level as in Kuwait. GEO 2020 (16–19 March 2020) was listed in Zain's portfolio.
